Month of March
Judy Mack - Horn Nursing
Horn Nursing and Rehabilitation is proud to announce that Judy Mack, Dietary Manager is our employee of the month for March. Judy started as Dietary Aide 23 years ago, then became the Housekeeping Supervisor, and in 1994 after getting her CDM, became Dietary manager. Residents, families and staff, all enjoy the home like meals that Judy helps coordinate along with all the special requests that she makes every effort to fill. Judy states that since she was a little girl, her toys have always been food related. Judy enjoys working along side her staff preparing the daily meals and loves to show off her “stuff” on special occasions. We at Horn would like to thank Judy for her hard work, many years of dedication, and a sense of humor that can brighten the darkest day! Thanks Judy!
Kay Fayak - Anchor Lodge
Anchor Lodge would like to congratulate Kay Fayak for being nominated March's Employee of the Month! Although Kay has been employeed with Anchor Lodge as an STNA for a short time (12/7/2009) she has quickly become a stand out employee! Her coworkers, residents and family members all speak very highly of her and recognize the fact that she is a wonderful asset to Anchor Lodge. Kay has a happy, friendly and caring demeanor. She always has a smile on her face and is willing to chip in and help a coworker no matter what kind of day she may be having. You can tell Kay truely cares about all of the residents at Anchor Lodge and provides them outstanding service. Congratulations Kay and thank you!
Becky McCrady - Heather Knoll
The Employee of the Month for March 2010 is Becky McCrady. Becky has been at Heather Knoll since 2003 and was hired as a new RN graduate. She fills the role here of one of the night shift nursing supervisors. Becky spends much of her free time with her two adult sons who live in the area and she is an avid shopper! Becky is described by her coworkers as being a very caring, attentive nurse. Becky's dedication and commitment to Heather Knoll is appreciated by her residents and their families. Congratulations Becky on a job well done, keep up the good work!
Kim Richmond - Elms Retirement
Kim was hired at ERV December 1, 2008 and provides service to the residents through her housekeeping skills. Kim is a committed worker and is very well liked by her peers. It is not out of the ordinary for her performance to be above and beyond on a regular basis. Kim is always willing to help others, even those outside of her department. She has a contagious personality and the residents love her energy. If you ask Kim what she enjoys most about being part of the ERV team she will tell you “Of course it’s the residents, but it is also my boss. I have to best boss. She is awesome and having that kind of support is important in a job”. Kim has four children that range from the age of 17 to 28. “Though they are all grown up, they will always be my reason for living”. Kim has a heart for people and knows how to touch others lives.
Jacqueline Walton - Autumn Aegis
Jackie has been with Autumn Aegis for a little less than a year in our laundry department. Jackie says "I love my job. I enjoy the residents and the family members. It feels great when the family members and residents compliment me and I know they appreciate what I do". Jackie makes sure that the residents' clothes are labeled and returned to them promptly. Jackie takes pride in her work and has great customer service. Jackie has recently moved into our housekeeping department. Thank you for everything you do for our residents! The next time you visit Autumn Aegis, stop Jackie and congratulate her on a job well done.
Month of February
Charles Pribulsky - Elms Retirement
Charles has been assisting elderly by working as an aide for the past 10 years. Elms Retirement Village has been lucky to have Chuck as part of the team for the past 4 1/2 years. He started working at the Elms in June of 2005. He is currently one of the restorative aides and he not only provides residents with quality of care by assisting them with their needs, he also helps them maintain physical ability by exercising with them. “I enjoy the residents a lot and I like the success when some of them reach a their goal and get to return home. I like the fact that we can have fun with the residents and become part of their family”. As you can see one reason Chuck was nominated by his peers for employee of the month is because he has a big heart that he likes to share with the residents. “Chuck will do anything you ask of him. He doesn’t see it as he is doing it for you, but that he is doing it for his residents. That is what we are here for”. The restorative nurse is proud of her restorative team and is glad to have Chuck as part of that team. Congratulations Chuck on EOM of February.
Kathy Babak - Horn Nursing
Kathy Babak says all she has ever done is care for and about people. She was a nurses’ assistant since her early 20’s and became an STNA about 8 years ago. Kathy came to us working part time and became a full time employee in late 2007. Kathy states that the Residents, getting to know each one and their families, is what makes her job important to her. Anytime someone is needed to go with a resident, work extra or over, Kathy is always willing. The entire staff at Horn would like to thank Kathy for all she does and for the care and love she gives to our residents.
Erika Escamilla - Anchor Lodge
Anchor Lodge is pleased to announce that Erika Escamilla is the February Employee of the Month. Erika has spent the past two years working in the Housekeeping Department. She not only provides a clean environment on a daily basis to our residents but more so brings happiness to everyone she comes into contact with. Erika is always smiling and has an outgoing, bubbly personality. Our residents and families love her and we receive many notes from them complimenting her performance. Erika is always willing to offer a helping hand to a coworker even if she is busy getting her own work done she will stop to help with whatever is needed. She is a great team player. We are thankful to have Erika as part of our team at Anchor Lodge. Congratulations Erika!
Maria Sepulveda - Towne Center
Maria began working for Sprenger Health Care Systems in May, 1995 at Lorain Manor. Initially, she worked as a nursing assistant and in other departments. She came to Main Street Care Center when it opened in April, 2007 and wanted to work as an STNA in the Willow Lane where she has been ever since. Maria states: “I really enjoy the residents. I learn so much from them.” Maria is truly an asset to the Main Street and the Residents love her. Congratulations Maria!
Jane Holland - Amherst Manor
Amherst Manor is proud to recognize the Employee of the Month for February, Jane Holland, LPN. Jane is a member of the Nursing Office team and has numerous responsibilities which help to ensure Quality of Care. She has worked at the Manor since December 2004, and has embraced her new responsibilities with enthusiasm. Jane is a dedicated and responsible nurse who is committed to excellence. She has a "can do" attitude and completes her tasks with attention to detail and a drive for perfection. She is positive, pleasant and smiling, and loves her job. Jane is a resident advocate and an outspoken proponent of resident rights and dignity. Her initiative and creativity make Amherst Manor a better place for residents and staff alike. Her usual response to the question, "How are you?" is, "Fabulous!" We would like Jane to know that we agree! Please congratulate Jane on your next visit to Amherst Manor.
Rhonda Dixon - Smithville Western
Rhonda Dixon has been employed at Smithville Western as an LPN since 2006. Rhonda works primarily in the Willows, which is the dementia unit. She brings a smile to the faces of the residents each day.
She is hardworking and dedicated. The staff looks to Rhonda to brighten their day when needed. Smithville Western would like to take this opportunity to let Rhonda know how much is appreciated for the work she does. She touches the lives of all of those she comes in contact with in a positive way. Congratulations Rhonda!
Betty Curtis - Heather Knoll
The employee of the month for February is Betty Curtis. Betty is a first shift Laundry Aide here at Heather Knoll and has been with the company for almost 9 years. She started out as Housekeeping/Laundry, then went to the Personal’s marking clothing for our Residents and now is in Laundry full time. Betty is always ready to help out residents, family members and staff whenever needed. When Betty isn’t here at work she likes to spend her time reading, hanging out with friends and family and taking care of her animals. Congratulations Betty for being chosen our employee of the month for February, keep up the good work!
Carol Horan - Grande Village
Carol has worked at Grande Village for 5 and a half years. She initially worked in the Manor. In the summer of 2007, Carol began working in the Suites assisted living. Carol's commitment to the residents is exemplary. She is extremely efficient to ensure that the resident's needs are met. She also gives the residents a health dose of TLC. As the charge nurse, Carol also ensures the staff working along side her are as equally responsive to the needs of the residents. Families often express their gratitude for the care Carol provides to their loved ones. They know when Carol is here, they don't need to worry!
Katrinia Taylor - Autumn Aegis
Katrinia is February's EOM and when asking others about Katrinia you will hear things like, "She always makes sure her residents not only look good but feel good." And, "She assists all of the residents and is a respected team player when it comes to her co-workers." Katrinia has been an STNA for three years and has spent all of her time at Autumn Aegis. Katrinia said she was recommended to take the Red Cross STNA training because she was identified by an advisor as a person who loves people. Her five year goal is to begin school to be an anesthesiologist. Katrinia said she loves what she does and enjoys helping people meet their needs. She especially has a heart for the dementia resident. Katrinia said that when she does go back to school she will continue to work because "I can't leave my residents!"
Month of January
Kathy Wohlford - Horn Nursing
Kathy Wohlford has been an LPN for 5 years and Horn has been lucky enough to have her as an employee for over 3 of those years. She was employee of the year in 2008 and continues to merit recognition. Kathy does more than what is expected and never complains and rarely shows stress. She is one of the favorites of Residents, Families and Staff. Kathy states she enjoys her job because of the family atmosphere and the closeness she feels with residents and staff. Kathy is happily married and is a proud mother and grandmother. We here at Horn are just as proud to have Kathy as our employee of the month . Thanks you Kathy for being you!
Dorothy Miller - Amherst Manor
Amherst Manor is proud to recognize Doris Miller, STNA as our January 2010 Employee of the Month. Doris has worked for Sprenger Health Care Systems for over 30 years, and has served as a Restorative Aide for much of that time. As she assists our residents to exercise and maintain their physical abilities, Doris endears herself to all of our residents who ask for her by name! Doris is well known in our facility as our building Safety Representative, and faithfully attends meetings and contributes to the safety and wellbeing of all residents and staff. She takes the initiative to seek out situations in which she can assist others, and her coworkers describe her as always willing to help with any task. Doris has been on the Employee Empowerment Committee since its inception in 1998, and has always done a wonderful job helping our staff feel special and appreciated. Amherst Manor would like to take this opportunity to let everyone know how much we appreciate Doris. A model employee and excellent customer service representative, Doris embodies the qualities all health care workers strive for. Traci Shaw - Autumn Aegis
Traci Shaw began her career with Autumn Aegis 2 years ago. he started in the role of Administravive Assitant and was later promoted to Business Office Manager. Traci is responsible for handling accounts receivables and payables. Traci was new to the health care industry and has gotten up to speed in a relatively short time. Traci works closely with our residents and families on sensitive billing issues and always does an excellent job. Traci is a team player and excellent cook! When she is not handling businees affairs she is whipping up one of her signature dishes or baked goods for the office staff...and of course we appriciate that! Congratulations to Traci on a job well done.
Jeanne Purdum - Smithville Western
Jeanne Purdum began at Smithville Western in 1980 as the Administrative Assistant. Jeanne oversees the payroll process as well as all of the incoming payables for the entire campus. She is organized in her role and the staff know they can rely on her to have the answers to their human resource questions. Jeanne does an excellent job in staying on task in a large facility. She helps to keep everyone else on their toes as well. Thanks for all you do Jeanne. It is truly appreciated!
Mike Mastin - Towne Center
Mike began working for Sprenger Health Care Centers in September, 2006 as a porter at Autumn Aegis.. He transferred to Main Street Care Center when it opened in April, 2007. He received a promotion while working at Main Street and now works as a Swing Cook. Mike states “I love working for Sprenger Health Care Centers. Chef Jim is the best boss I ever had and I really enjoy my co-workers.” Mike also enjoys working with the residents and making them happy. Mike is a tremendous asset to Main Street Care Center. Congratulations, Mike!
Tammy Csehek - Elms Retirement
Tammy has worked at the Elms since May of 2004. She works in the kitchen preparing meals for the residents. Tammy says she loves being able to provide for the residents and enjoys making them happy. She likes hearing their suggestions for new ways of preparing meals and putting their suggestions to use. Tammy’s peers say, “She really knows how to keep us laughing. That makes working with her a lot of fun”. Tammy’s supervisor says, “Tammy tells it how it is. She is great to have on the dietary team”. Thank you Tammy for all you do! Congratulations.
Charisse Brown - Anchor Lodge
Charisse works as a Dietary Aide in the Assisted Living and is very much appreciated by her co-workers. In fact together all of her co-workers submitted a letter nominating Charisse to be awarded Employee of the Month. Her coworkers wrote, "We the staff of Assisted Living, would like to nominate Charisse Brown as the Employee of the Month. She is an awesome employee in that she always puts the needs of the residents above anything else. Charisse works in dietary where she always makes sure the residents have what they want or need. She does her job so well and makes all the residents happy, she makes it look simple. She works well with all of us, anything that you ask of her to do she does without question."
Charisse's organizational skills, big heart and compassion make her favorite to her coworkers and the residents of Assisted Living. We would like to thank and congratulate Charisse for doing such a fantastic job!
Katie Barrett, LPN - Grande Village
Katie has been employed at GV for the past year - while she is working Katie always has a very easy going, enthusiastic approach to her job. She works well with the team helping to coordinate the nightshift responsibilities and communication. Families and residents are highly complimentary of Katie and the care and concern she gives to them. Congratulations Katie!
Stephanie Hang - Heather Knoll
The employee of the Month for January is Stephanie Hang. Stephanie is a night shift LPN who generally works on C- wing. She started out working here in high school as a nursing assistant and has worked her way up to LPN. Stephanie’s grandmother is also a resident at our facility. Congratulations Stephanie for being chosen as our Employee of the Month and for being such a dedicated nurse, keep up the good work!
