Leigh Malone - Grande Village
Congratulations to Leigh Malone for being selected as the Grande Village February 2012 Employee of the Month. Leigh has been employed in the dietary department at Grande Village for the past three years in her position as a cook; she has done a tremendous job of making the food tasteful for the residents as well as appealing in presentation. Leigh is always willing to help co-workers and is an asset to the team at Grande Village. Thank you Leigh for all that you do!!
Melinda Simms - Smithville Western
Congratulations to Melinda Simms, February Employee of the Month at Smithville Western Care Center. Melinda joined the Sprenger team in 2006 at Horn Nursing and Rehab Center as the Admissions Director. In 2009, the Admissions Director position became available at Smithville Western Care Center and she decided to transfer. Mindy works closely with the family members and residents to ensure that they are receiving excellent customer service and quality care. Mindy is involved in many different community groups and supports the surrounding area and lots of causes. Thanks for all that you do for Wooster!
David Maines - Heather Knoll
The Employee of the Month of February 2012 for Heather Knoll is David Maines. David is our Maintenance Assistant and has been with the company for a little over 6 months, but in that short time he has made a great impression with his work ethic and social skills that we are happy to show our appreciation with this award. Even though David has not been with our company very long, he has over a decade of experience in the Maintenance Dept.! David spends his days at the facility working in the garage, fixing things, painting, plowing, moving furniture and is still able to socialize with the residents and family members. If you see David out and about please feel free to say thanks for a job well done and get to know him a little better! Thank you David for being such an important asset to our facility, we appreciate all of your hard work!
Jean Mann - Amherst Manor
Congratulations to Jean Mann on being selected to be Amherst Manor's February Employee of the Month! Jean has worked in the dietary department for eleven years, and during those years she has covered many positions. She currently works on the Meals on Wheels meal preparation program and as a dietary server. Jean has a great attitude and is a hard and conscientious worker. She is always willing to assist with all of the dietary department's special events. Jean takes that extra step and goes the extra mile to help out when and where she is needed. Jean is a great asset to the dietary department. If you see Jean please congratulate her! Thank you Jean for all you do!
Sheila McCartney - Elms Retirement Village
Congratulations to Sheila McCartney, February Employee of the Month at Elms Retirement Village. She has worked at the Elms since September. Sheila provides excellent housekeeping services to our residents. Sheila is compassionate with the residents and takes time to listen to each and every one of them. She is patient and understanding. Sheila will do whatever is asked of her by anyone. She takes pride in her work and the services she provides for the residents. Sheila finds her job to be rewarding and comments on how she loves the residents. She says she has a new appreciation for the elderly and an awareness of how thankful the residents are for the small things in life. Thank you Sheila for all you do! Carol Sanders - Anchor Lodge
Anchor Lodge is pleased to announce Carol Sanders has been selected as the February Employee of the Month. Carol has spent the past 15 years at Anchor Lodge working as an STNA/Restorative Aide. Carol exemplifies all of the traits you would want a caregiver to provide. She is patient, kind and above all an excellent care giver. Carol cares greatly about the residents and the care they are provided. It is because of these qualities Carol was selected to be a mentor to new employees. Carol is a great team member who is willing to lend a helping hand to a co-worker in need or volunteer to pick up extra shifts when the need arises. Jamie Santiago - Autumn Aegis
Congratulations to Jamie Santiago on being the February 2012 Employee of the month for Autumn Aegis! Jamie has been with Autumn Aegis for the past year. She is the full time Charge Nurse on the 300 hall. Jamie is very dependable, hard working and devoted to caring for her residents. Residents, families and staff on 300 hall appreciate Jamie and her knowledge. Jamie always has a smile on her face and a joke for the residents and staff. Thank You Jamie for your hard work and dedication, we appreciate you here!!!
Amy Shaw-Decker - Horn Nursing
Congratulations to Amy Shaw-Decker, Dietary, for being chosen Horn Nursing Center’s February Employee of the Month. Amy started working for Horn November of 1996. Amy says that she considers her co-workers and residents a second family. She loves being around the residents and helping where she can. Congratulations again Amy, and thank you so much for your continued dedication and smiles here at Horn!
Joe Cook - Main Street Care Center
Congratulations to Joe Cook, STNA, for being selected as Main Street Care Center Employee of the Month for February. Joe’s first job at the age of 14 was painting houses for his grandfather. Later on, Joe helped to take care of his grandfather and decided he would like to become an STNA. Joe has been an STNA for the past 3 years, and has been at Main Street Care Center for the past seven months. When asked what he likes most about working here at Main Street Care Center, he replied, “Knowing that I am helping the residents, getting to know them and being a part of their lives.” Joe, we are proud to have you on our team!!
Kyra Cunningham - Rose Lane
Rose Lane is proud to have Kyra Cunningham as February's Employee of the Month. Kyra has been part of the Rose Lane family since 2001. She has worked as a STNA, Ward Clerk and now in the Activities Department. She brings her contagious enthusiasm to the Activities Department and shares her talent with the residents. Congratulations Kyra!

Vivian Rivera - Amherst Manor
Congratulations to Vivian Rivera, Employee of the Month for January at Amherst Manor Retirement Community. Vivian has been employed at Amherst Manor for 15 years working in the housekeeping/laundry departments. Vivian makes time to help everyone and will help interpret when called upon by Social Services and Admissions. Her excellent customer service skills are appreciated by the residents, their families, and staff. Vivian always has a ready smile for everyone, is dependable, and a great team player. Debra Weese - Autumn Aegis
Autumn Aegis is pleased to announce that Debra Weese, Laundry Aide, has been chosen as January's employee of the month. Debra has been at Autumn Aegis for almost a year. She is known by her co-workers as a very pleasant, outgoing person, dedicated to her work and an excellent team member. Debra state, "She is a people person and likes to interact with her

Rachel Mays - Grande Village
Rachel Mays, LPN, has been chosen as Employee of the Month for January at Grande Village. She has been employed at Grande Village as an LPN Charge Nurse since November 2010. Rachel has contributed greatly in anchoring the 300 hall nursing team. She works efficiently under pressure and rolls easily with whatever the day brings. Residents and families consistently compliment her for the kind and compassionate way she provides care and leadership on the hall. Rachel is a true asset to the GV team! Crystal Mark - Horn Nursing Center
Congratulations to Crystal Mark, Activities Assistant/STNA, for being selected Horn Nursing Center January Employee of the Month. Crystal started working at Horn in June of 2006. She is a very hard worker and provides excellent care for our residents. Crystal says one of her favorite things about her job is the residents and getting to know them and their families. Congratulations again Crystal for all of your dedication and love that you show our residents! Keep up the great work!
Dana Phillips - Smithville Western
Congratulations to Dana Phillips, STNA, Employee of the Month of January at Smithville Western. Dana joined our team in the past year and hit the ground running. He is friendly and supportive of all co-workers and residents. He works every day to bring a smile to the faces of those around him. Dana works primarily on the skilled rehab hall and provides encouragement to those receiving therapy and trying to get stronger. Thanks for all you do. Keep up the good work.
Olivia Presti - Elms Retirement Village
Congratulations to Olivia Bradish, STNA, Employee for the Month of January at Elms Retirement Village. She has been an STNA at the Elms since April 2011 and is much appreciated by her peers as well as by the residents at the Elms. Co-workers comment on how she is a very hard worker and a team player. When needed she is always willing to help. Olivia is also very well rounded and enjoys spending time with them. Olivia states, “My job is rewarding in many ways, I like that I go home feeling like I did something important for someone and made a difference in the residents lives.” Congratulations Olivia and Thank You for all that you do!
Stephanie Smith - Heather Knoll
Heather Knoll Employee of the Month for January 2012 is Stephanie Smith. Stephanie started at Heather Knoll about a year ago as an STNA and about 3 months ago transitioned into our Activity Dept. Stephanie is described by her co-workers as very compassionate, caring, hard working and flexible. She always takes extra time to spend with our residents and continues to pick up shifts on the floor, while still working in Activities. Stephanie can always be counted on to get her assigned duties completed in a timely manner and takes initiative to complete other tasks, as planning, set up or one-on-one visiting in her down time. Stephanie is a graduate from Kent State University with her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and was born and raised in Lisbon, Ohio. Thank you Stephanie for being an outstanding employee. We are happy to have you on our staff, keep up the good work!
Melinda Fox - Rose Lane
Melinda Fox, STNA, has been selected as the Employee of the Month of January at Rose Lane. Melinda has been at Rose Lane since September 20, 1993. She is very dedicated and a hard worker. Melinda provides excellent care to all the residents and families. She continues to be an asset to Rose Lane and we are glad she is part of our team. Congratulations, Melinda!!
Pam Justice - Main Street Care Center
Congratulations to Pam Justice, STNA, as having been selected the Employee of the Month at Main Street Care Center. Pam has worked as an STNA for 15 years and been doing Scheduling for 7 years. She has been employed at Main Street Care Center since March 2009. Pam states that she enjoys working at MSCC and has learned a lot since starting here. Pam enjoys interacting with the residents and is grateful for the opportunity to be working with such a supportive team of
co-workers. Pam is very conscientious and approaches her challenging responsibilities with a very positive attitude. She is always trying her best to accommodate the many staff scheduling requests and prides herself in being fair. These past few months, Pam has accepted even more responsibilities and can often be found working in the Business Office. Pam’s quiet and pleasant demeanor makes her a delight to work with. Pam exceeds expectations every single day and is a great asset to our team!
Monica Rapitis - Anchor Lodge
Anchor Lodge is pleased to announce the Employee of the Month of January 2012. We congratulate Monica Rapitis, our activity assistant in the assisted living. Monica has quite the reputation with our residents. They all speak very highly of her. Monica is dedicated not only to her job but to her residents' needs. She wears her heart on her sleeve. Monica excels in her customer service as well. She is always greeting with a warm smile. Monica provides outstanding performance in her duties and more. She is willing to help in all departments or wherever a need arises. Monica has wonderful activity ideas and implements them for the benefit of the residents. Quality of life is Monica's goal when encouraging residents to participate in activity programs.
