The assisted living program at Smithville Western Commons, known as “Wayne Manor”, was built in response to the changing needs of seniors within the community. 

In the fall of 2003, Wayne Manor added a new dimension to assisted living in Wooster with the addition of 17 spacious suites.  Residents at Wayne Manor live in a safe and secure environment where support services are available to those in need.  Wayne Manor is committed to helping all residents maintain their highest level of wellness and independence.

Wayne Manor offers beautiful efficiency apartments as well as one and two bedroom suites which include the following amenities:

• 24 – hour emergency response system

• Comprehensive recreation program

• Microwave/Refrigerator/ Freezer

• Walk in showers and closets

• Individual temperature controls

• Private patio

• Laundry and maid service

• Maintenance and repair service

• Non-denominational chapel

• Vaulted ceilings and skylights in the two bedroom suites

Residents are provided with an active social and recreational calendar. Amenities include barber/beauty shop, chapel, library, and a private dining room that can be reserved for special occasions. Residents are encouraged to remain active in community organizations and have the opportunity to participate in many special programs.

The Willows, our Alzheimer's unit, provides structured compassionate care specialized to meet the unique needs of residents who have dementia or memory disorders. Additional security features and an enclosed courtyard allow each resident to enjoy our country surroundings within a safe environment.
